Mid Week Blues: Faerie Flames

I came across these lovely candles that glow different colors. Instead of the normal amber color you can have them glow blue, red, green, pink, etc... You can find them HERE. I love the birthday cake ones, they just look so festive!

I can only imagine how awesome the tea lights above would look in some of our candle holders. Like these... (to see the item click on the picture)

For St. Patty's Day lets do my favorite Irish Drink

Irish Car Bomb
Add the Bailey's and Jameson to a shot glass, layering the Bailey's on the bottom. Pour the Guinness into a pint glass or beer mug 3/4 of the way full and let settle. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and chug. If you don't drink it fast enough it will curdle and increasingly taste worse.

*** For a really got treat instead of Bailey's use either Ben and Jerry's Dublin Mud Slide or Haagan Daz Baileys Ice Cream and make a float, mmmmm.

Mid Week Purples??...

We need to go over a few business ideas and launch them to xy company, lets "Meet At The Apartment!"
This picture is of the grand chair in the parlor of this unique business center called "Meet". It's located in the heart of Soho in New York City. A think center for groups to get together to "re-imagine a business, re-invent a product or pitch potential clients" as stated on their site. With 2,500 square foot of space and dedicated people to make your meetings just right and imaginative there is no wonder why top consumer brand's and TV networks are just some of the companies that use this facility.
This is such a wonderful space. I would love just a room in my house to look like their parlor ...
Or lounge. It makes it look so personal and exclusive, that you would think you where walking into a club. Check out the site "WelcometoMeet" for more information on their packages, the goodies, and more pictures.

Changes Over The Years....

(2007)
Happy Hump Day! Hope your having a better day, then it is here in VA. Snowed again this morning. I haven't seen this much snow since I lived in NY. But, as I am typing there is a ray of sunlight starting to come through the window behind me, so hopefully the day will get nicer. My mom has a subscription to House Beautiful, and I love perusing it when I visit her. This month they have featured the "70 Years of Blue Rooms". Its incredible how much we have not only progressed but also regressed in styles. Some of the rooms are unbearably hideous and I am not sure how some of the people didn't go crazy being in their "blue" room. Here is a simple timeline of pictures. To see the full thing of 54 pictures go HERE...

Designer Trailer Park??

I know I haven't been consistant with the Monday and Tuesday posts, but I am having some HUGE writers block on those days. I was lucky to have gotten Monday out. If I can come up with something without taring my hair out you will get a double post some time this week. Alright so now lets get to your Mid Week Blues post!

Yep its Wednesday again, to me this is the hardest day of the week. Everything that I haven't gotten done that week slaps me in the face on Wednesday, then everything I need to get done on Thursday and Friday is like "Yep I'm Still Here!" I need to learn how to delegate my time better :-\. But the important stuff does get done like my orders and answering peoples emails, so as long as I have those done I guess my week is complete. The rest is just extra. While I was looking through every website I could find and read every article I saw for Tuesdays post, I came across this lovely.

There is a hotel in Cape Town, South Africa called "The Grand Daddy". It has all the normal things a grand hotel would have, a restaurant, bar, hotel rooms, suites, and a penthouse all with terrific style. The unique part is that its penthouse is surrounded by the rooftop trailer park! Yup you heard right this hotel has its own trailer park. Each has its own style, designed by local artists.

....and because I adore jellyfish my favorite......

Earthcote Moontides

Other then these, they also have sitting areas, a bar, and a movie theater showing older movies all right there on the roof. In the height of the season you can expect to spend 1250 Rand which is $199 per night. In the off season about $129.

Why can't we all be so lucky to work here....

I have always heard how Google takes care of their employees and all the benefits they offer. But I think the coolest thing is their offices. The following 3 pictures are all of inside google.

These are the offices for 3 Rings, an online gaming company. When I first saw this I thought it was for some world traveling agency. They are good thinking room.

This one is my favorite though because I work from my own office, this would be such a soothing place to work especially on a nice summer day.

Blue Holiday Table Decor

The holidays are right around the corner, our Shop is gearing up for its HUGE holiday gift and decor section and while I site here with all my windows open it feels like May! I can't even get myself into that holiday season mode. My favorite holiday is less then a month away (Thanksgiving November 26th) and I am so excited, food seems to be my one true happiness in this world, and what better Holiday to love then right? So today I will be touching on blue table holiday decor.

This is a wonderful table for holiday events, weddings, cocktail parties, Christmas parties. The hint of blue in the goblets brighten up the table against the white and silver. The silver dresses the table up and the centerpieces are hanging snowflakes in a cylinder vase. This is a good centerpiece for a holiday get together that has children. Kids will LOVE looking at this candy cane wonderland. The red and robins egg blue has been a new color scheme for event decor this year.

For a coastal holiday here is a table design. Robins Egg blue table settings with silver accents. You can buy metal pine cones from many decor stores around the holidays but why spend $3.00 per person on something you can DIY and find in your backyard? Find some smaller pine cones and starfish and spray paint then with metallic silver finish.

Drink of the Day

Blue Christmas Cocktail
Blue Curacoa is a liqueur made from laraha peels, which are similar to oranges, and grown on the island of Curacoa in the southern Caribbean Sea. Its gorgeous blue color in a cocktail is a stellar ingredient for signature holiday drinks
Ingredients
1 oz. premium vodka
1/2 oz. Blue Curacao liqueur
3 oz. white grape juice
Steps
Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake and strain into a Champagne glass and serve.
Joke of the Day
Two men were walking home after a Halloween party and decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery just for laughs. Right in the middle of the cemetery they were startled by a tap-tap-tapping noise coming from the misty shadows.
Trembling with fear, they found an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at one of the headstones. "Holy cow, Mister," one of them said after catching his breath, "You scared us half to death -- we thought you were a ghost! What are you doing working here so late at night?"
"Those fools!" the old man grumbled. "They misspelled my name!"
