Cozy Get Together...

This wedding from Style Me Pretty (also where we got the pictures from) is very interesting to me because the reception room and how its set up looks a lot like the dining room from Hogwarts in Harry Potter. But this room is located at the Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
The decor is simple but perfect. It has a cozy home for the holidays feel. Which is great for an intimate get together like a wedding. This decor can also be used for rehearsal dinners, dinner parties, etc... The parsons chairs, black pedestal candle holders, and urn vases give this a vintage feel. Parsons chairs can be very expensive to rent, try looking for reception halls that already have them to use. A lot of the older places know they work best and already have them on hand. You can find the rest of the decor at craft stores, antique shops, our shop (Sunday Morning), and even the dollar store.
These items, the black pedestal candle holder (we also have a large version), and the urn can both be found cheap at our shop. Bulk discounts are available just contact us for details. Click on the picture to take you to description page or to buy them.

Day 2

Today's menu will be exactly like yesterdays, breakfast (egg sandwich), Lunch (salad), and Dinner (left overs from last night). Everything tasted delicious, I think I would go a little less on the chicken rub, and my picky husband even said the potatoes where the best he's ever had and he loved the chicken so I guess that's going to become a normal weekly meal. Today I will start my 2 weeks workout with "Fat Burning Dance Party" by Crunch. I love to dance, and I know its a great workout!

Day 1

Exercise will consist of doing the laundry, cleaning the dishes, and running errands. Nothing to big but Mondays are my days to get stuff done. Real exercise will start tomorrow in the early am with the Fat Burning Dance Party DVD by Crunch. I love dancing so a lot of the regimes I will be doing will have to do with dance, some like the Wii fitness will not. During the day if I feel I need something I will eat yogurt, pretzels, or for something sweet a low fat cookie.

Breakfast:
Jimmie Dean's D-lights Canadian bacon, honey wheat muffin, egg white, and cheese sandwich. (I love these! They taste allot like McDonalds egg mcmuffins). It suppose to be 1/2 the fat and 1/3 fewer calories then other breakfast sandwiches. Its 230 calories and 4.5 grams of fat.

Lunch:
Salad with cut up tomatoes
2 tablespoons of fat free shredded cheese (I like the Mexican blend or mozzarella)
2 tablespoons of fat free honey Dijon dressing by Teresa's
1/4 cup of shredded chicken (I use the Purdue cut breasts unless I have left over chicken breasts from dinner then I use those)
Mix together and eat!

**My breakfast and lunch will be pretty much the same thing every day unless I have left overs that need to be finished.

Dinner:
Tonight's dinner recipes where all found on www.3fatchicks.com.

Side Dish:
Parmesan Sage Potato Wedges
1 large (6 oz) potato, well scrubbed, cut into 1/4″ wedges
2 cups cold water
1 tsp. oil
1 T. Parmesan
1/8 tsp. each salt and sage
dash pepper

Bring water and potatoes to a boil, until crisp tender (4 or 5 minutes). Rinse with cold water until cool. Pat dry. Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Saute potatoes until lightly browned. Sprinkle with cheese and seasonings

It serves 2 and is 82 calories with 3 grams of fat.

Main Dish:
Cornflake Chicken
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, flattened
1 cup cornflake crumbs
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp poultry seasoning
1/2 cup skim milk

Recipe directions
Combine cornflake crumbs and seasonings in shallow bowl. Soak chicken in milk then dredge chicken in crumb mixture. Place on baking sheet which has been sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake at 400* about 25 minutes or until lightly browned.

159 calories and 1.5 grams of fat serves 4

For a Veggie I will be doing Green Giant Steamers: white corn with a little smart balance butter (which is excellent you can't tell a difference) and salt. About 100 calories

Whole meal will be about 341 calories!

New Diet Section...

Hey everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. As I mentioned on Friday it was my mothers birthday on Saturday, so we spent part of the day walking through the local gardens soaking in the sun and warmer temps, then we spent the rest of the weekend talking about our exciting family trip that we will be talking at the end of the year. Well, between that and summer approaching I think its time to get my butt into gear and go on a diet. Its something that I always talk about, do for 2 days and then go back to my original habits.

Tracking my weight loss for my wonderful readers to watch, I feel might actually keep me going, hopefully for a while. I will be posting the recipes of every meal I eat and my likes and dislikes in them. So I will be scouring the web, magazines, and my diet cookbooks for great recipes that can become a staple in my house. Then at the end of each week I will let you all know how much I have lost. I will also be trying different types of exercise videos, the Wii fitness games, and some weeks will probably be just dependant on the diet. I already drink water, I have stopped drinking soda all together unless I am out to eat then I drink Sprite (just a note if you are doing this with me).

I don't expect you guys to hold my hand and support me through this, if you feel like saying something, sending me some good recipes, or even doing the diet with me, please do! But I am not expecting anything except my feeling of obligation to live up to my blog.

So today starts my 6 month endeavour :-)

Cute End Table DIY

(picture and idea from Martha Stewart)

Happy Friday everyone! This weekend is going to be beautiful and I will be spending it with my mother (other half owner of Sunday Morning) because her birthday is Saturday, Happy Birthday Mom :-) Hope you all have a wonderful weekend too and stay warm.

This weeks DIY post will be about a cute idea for an end table. Its portable, so its great for storage, especially for you gals that like to do crafts at night while watching TV. So for all of you interested lets try it out this weekend.

Tools and Materials
Sturdy lidded basket
Four 1-by-2s
Latex satin-finish paint
Six 1 1/4-inch wood screws
Power screwdriver
Four casters and screws

How-To
1. Paint the basket and lid.
2. Position two 1-by-2s, cut 2 inches shorter than basket's length, inside basket, 1 inch from each side. Align with second pair -- cut the same length, mitered at a 45-degree angle, and painted -- placed on the underside. From inside basket, join three layers with wood screws.
3. Screw casters to supports on bottom of basket. If you plan to put heavy books or plants on top of the lid, it's a good idea to insert a strong plastic- or wooden-lidded box inside the basket, flush with the rim, for additional support.

Chandeliers for every occasian...

(picture from Project Wedding)
Chandeliers are very versatile decor pieces. In the picture above they add a touch of elegance, in the picture below they add a touch of vintage. They can be added over each table, down the center of the dance floor, or place randomly through out a room. You can hang jewels or flowers off of them to dress them up or down. The possibilities are endless!
(Picture from Town and Country)
They can be used at at any type of get together whether it's a wedding or a birthday party. They look great at bachelorette parties, baby showers, wine tasting, and even a little girls tea party. In the pictures below you can see they also make great props for photo shoots, it gives them that dramatic elegance.
(Pictures from Cater San Antonio)
They come in so many different styles along with being bulb or candle lit. We have a few candle lit possibilities at our shop that you can see below and by visiting HERE (they are meshed in with our candelabras).

Happy Monday!

Spring is almost here and I am hoping by the end of the month it will be back up to the 60's. I am already in the mood to get outside an clean up and get it to be a place I can work when the weather gets better. I saw this outside area that I fell in love with, the clean look with bursts of calming colors. This look is wonderful outside but could be amazing as a seaside sitting room too!
Of course the sectional will be the most expensive and you could look at spending a couple of thousand no matter where you go. Keep an eye out at estate, garage, and tag sales for used pieces that you could make any color reupholstering or using slip covers. Walmart has a pretty nice brown and tan one for $1,600 though, if you are up to buying new.

For a cheaper version of the table in the original picture get a plain wood table from any craft store and then stain it with sealant. If your using the above couch you will want to stain it one step darker then the wicker color, so almost black. Target has a table for $152 that would fit well with it (see below).

For the little added touches such as the carpet, its not quite the same but its pretty none the less, for only $83 (5'3" by 7'6"). Then there are the pillows, which can get expensive. For another option, make your own! They should only take about 5-10 minutes per pillow to make and half the price. If your not sure how to do this google it, there are so many sites out there that will fit your needs.

  1. Sectional - Walmart
  2. Coffee Table - Target
  3. Blue and green pillows - Pottery Barn and Pillow Decor
  4. Lantern - "The Shop"
  5. Rug - PowersellerUSA
  6. Green throw - Bed Bath and Beyond

DIY: Dresser Bookcase

(Picture from Country Living)

Hey everyone! Happy Friday :-) The Blog is coming along, a few more tweaks here and there and it will be perfect.

This weeks DIY is about how to make a bookcase out of a piece of furniture that you would never think. A DRESSES! I love how this looks and you can do it with a junk pieces that you have laying around or a cheap one you find at a garage sale.

To take part in this DIY project go to Country Living. It looks pretty easy, I might wind up doing this in the near future since my bookshelf is falling apart. You could also use this design for hanging shelves.

Have a great weekend everyone. See you all on Monday.

Drool Over This Imperial Bathroom...

Unique 63 is a spectacular bathroom designed by Delpha a company located in France. They have many more designs like this one if you go to their site HERE.

This one in particular caught my eye because of how intricate the whole design really is, and of course I love the Moroccan look! It's not overly girly nor overly masculine as I feel their unique designs can be. The whole room is just so romantic. As much as I love showers and the one in this room is perfect, I feel a tub would have worked much better in filling out that Moroccan and romantic theme. They could have put in a slate or stone tub with the tiles they used in patterns all around it, to give it that extra sparkle. Its still unbelievably beautiful anyhow :-)

So just take a look at these pictures and go to their site and just drool all over these.
